Carolina Family Weekend 2025 registration is underway and we don't want you to miss out on this year's Signature Events. These are events planned & hosted by New Student & Family Programs and this year we're bringing back some classic events families love, plus new events to make a memorable weekend with your Tar Heel! 

Some events are included with your Family Weekend general registration and others are ticketed (due to limited space/food or material cost):

What's New This Year?

• Carolina C.Hilli Cook-off (Saturday 11/1, 12:30-2:30pm): Join us for a flavorful fall menu offering chili, cornbread, sides & desserts all crafted by our own Carolina Dining Services chefs! A ticket gets you in the door at Chase Dining Hall, a chance to sample a variety of stations and a vote on this year's Top Carolina Chef! *ticketed event
• The Pitcha' Perfect Photo Booth (Sunday 11/2, 12-1pm): Wrap up the weekend with your Tar Heel and take some fun family photos outdoors in the Pit. We'll have a photobooth set up with Carolina props & feature UNC student a cappella group, Tar Heel Voices! *free with CFW registration

What's Classic CFW?

• Carolina On My Mind: A Student Affairs Mini Conference (Friday 10/31, 11am-1pm): We’re bringing the experts to you for a mini conference covering topics we know are on the mind of Carolina families! Showcasing Student Affairs professionals present from UNC’s Career Center, experts on On-Campus & Off-Campus Housing & Fraternity & Sorority Life. *free with CFW registration
• Cheerwine & Design (Friday 10/31, 6-8pm): An evening where you and your Tar Heel enjoy Cheerwine, Cheerwine floats & snacks while a local art instructor guides you through your own painting (canvases are presketched!). This year's painting is the Carolina Pumpkin! *ticketed event
• Conversation with the Chancellor (Saturday 11/1, 10-11am): This annual tradition invites ALL Carolina families together for an event with Chancellor Lee H. Roberts and UNC leadership. Chancellor Roberts will provide remarks and updates on all things UNC! Expect an opportunity for Q&A with University Leadership. *free with CFW registration
• The Carolina Family Weekend Coffee Break (Saturday 11/1, 11am-12pm): Join us for coffee and light breakfast refreshments after the Carolina Family Weekend Annual Conversation with the Chancellor *free with CFW registration
• Sunday Biscuit Brunch & Live Music! (Sunday 11/2, 10am-12pm): Bring the whole family to our laid-back brunch, including biscuit sandwiches, fresh fruit, oj, coffee & tea and enjoy a showcase of homegrown Carolina student musicians! *ticketed event
